New single “C’est Comme Ca” is out!
Howdy, Paramore fans and also my friends who subscribe to this to humor me! Apologies for the late Weekly Roundup - I’ve been truly so unbelievably busy with my job and my book proposal. However! I wanted to circle back and sync with y’all (sorry, my brain is inundated with corporate speak - see above) about the single Paramore released this last Thursday!!
“C’est Comme Ca,” the third and presumably final single to drop before Paramore’s upcoming album This Is Why, came out 4 days ago. I’m honestly so curious what the circumstances were, because compared to the other two singles, they did basically nothing—two tiny teasers on IG, as opposed to a (accidentally muted) YouTube live for the first and pretty elaborate teasers for the second. Plus it just kind of… landed on streaming services earlier in the day than they’d said it would? Anyway. Thanks for letting me indulge a few minor curiosities. Oh, to be a fly on the wall of their calls with Atlantic etc.
I won’t reinvent the wheel here—my thoughts (in less than 60 seconds!) on “C’est Comme Ca” live in this TikTok video. TLDR; I like it a lot, it’s giving Bloc Party, and some of the lyrics hit pretty close to home for me as a person in my thirties who is, like Hayley and her bandmates, trying to heal and thrive.
